We Did It! $914 Raised!
Special Thanks to: Patricia B., our longtime super donor whose generous donation closed out this project and put in an extra $90 for Zoila and family.
Learn more about Zoila and see photos of her with her family.
Zoila’s family would like to raise chickens and sell the eggs. They have ample room on their property to do so. They would need to build a chicken coop. Her father is a day laborer and the only bread winner. They currently have an income of $105 a month. This project would add a second income without taking the mother away from the family.
Zoila’s family consists of her father, Vicente, and her mother, Zoila. Her siblings are: Glendy Roxana (5), Jose Obed (1), Odiel (7), Evelio De Jesus (12), Jose Vicente (14), and Elvia (14). Only Glendy and Zoila have sponsors. Zoila is a sweet little girl. A little bit shy, but always with a lovely smile. Zoila’s brothers help her write her letters to her sponsor. They are clearly a close family.
The family could benefit from the income a chicken farm could raise. Since they could raise the chickens right on their property, Zoila’s mother could still be home with her young children.
The fundraiser for the Income Generating Main Project is Stephanie W. of Maryland.

Below is an excerpt from Stephanie’s writings on her Aura’s House projects:
“My family has been sponsoring through Children International for a little over a year now. We sponsor seventeen children in five countries. It has been wonderful to build a personal relationship with all of our sponsor children and we always look forward to their letters and photographs…
…I know from experience that Income Generating Projects are extremely helpful to these families. In many cases their income will increase dramatically. It makes a huge difference in their daily welfare as well as their ability to save money and plan for the long term. It offers them hope for the future and the ability to work towards their goals. Sponsoring so many children, I am financially unable to fund every project by myself and that’s why I am so grateful to Aura’s House and to everyone who donates. Thank you so much!”
