$509 Raised. Thank You!
Their Needs Are:
1 baby furniture for Gema’s baby brother – $125.50
1 bed for Gema’s parents, to replace the very old one they are using – $132.00
2 wooden wardrobes, currently the family does not have adequate furniture to store their clothes – $251.00
Gema is the sponsor child of Susana Boavida Fernandes of Coembra, Portugal.
“Gema is a sweet little girl living in the outskirts of Guatemala City. She lives with her parents, Edwin and Julia, two older sisters, Crystal (12) and Dulce (10) and her baby brother Yesher. Gema loves going to school, she is really passionate about Mathematics! She frequently tells me in her letters how well she did in school and how much she loves to help her mother at home.
When I first started sponsoring Gema, back in March 2008, both her parents worked, but after Yesher was born, the mother had to stay at home with the baby and the family income dropped to less than half. The family really needs somewhere to store their clothes safely. Also, the baby is sharing an extremely old bed with his parents, and they could really use a new bed and a crib.
I hope you consider helping Gema and her family. Your donation will have a great impact in a little girl’s self-esteem, and that’s all she needs to break the poverty cycle!
I’ve been a sponsor through Children International for a little over a year and currently I sponsor three girls in Guatemala and Mexico. It has been fantastic to watch my sponsored girls grow while we build a strong personal relationship. I keep checking my mail daily with the hope that I will find a new letter or photo. I write to them frequently, because I know my girls love to hear from me as much as I love hearing from them!
I am now aware of how much difference we can make in a child’s life and know for a fact that every dollar spent helping our sponsored children is worth it!”
