Update on Ana’s Complete Income Generation Project- Ecuador

6 January 2010 No Comment

This update came a few weeks ago from Vickie Wiedenmann of Children International regarding Ana’s Income Generation project in Ecuador. She writes:

Hello everyone!

I just received an update from the agency in Quito regarding Ana’s project to provide an electrical workshop for Mr. Lema.

He has received tutoring lessons from an “electromechanic specialist” for the past four weeks.  Mr. Lema told our staff that he is confident with his knowledge and skills and appreciated the tutoring provided to him.

Unfortunately, Mr. Lema has suffered medically during the past month with skin injuries due to his condition.  His situation required medical treatment (at home), but during that time, he was not able to work for long periods of time.  He was able to earn about $20 per week, however, on the small projects he was able to work on, and is looking forward to getting ‘back on the job’ soon.

He is ready to improve his business and the entire family continues to thank God and the donors and sponsors who made his business possible.

The agency still has a balance of about $400 that will be used to pay the tutor and purchase a few more small tools that Mr. Lema requires.  They’ll be taking care of that within the next week or so.

Thanks again – to each of you – and your great donors for helping Mr. Lema with his business.

And, I hope each of you have a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year!
