Thanks to Alexia, our Aura’s House Intern

7 May 2010 One Comment

Over the past few months starting in February 2010, Aura’s House had the pleasure of working with Alexia Pilleris, a Greek student studying at The American University of Rome in Rome, Italy. She worked with Kristen Palana, her professor and founder of the Aura’s House website to create several promotional materials including web banners and a short YouTube video. Alexia also did online promotional work and held a bake sale for the India Tuition Project which yielded over $125 and made it possible to send another seven children to school for a year.

Alexia writes about her experience:

Working as an intern for Auras House was a great experience for me. As a Communication Major I got to use Final Cut Pro, Photoshop and Illustrator again to design banners and a promotional video to get the word out about what Auras House is. One of the best times was when I had a bake sale where I raised 110 euros in which all the profits went to the India Tuition project. We sent seven more children to school in India. Anything that involves me helping children in any way I can makes me happy. While designing the banners, the composition I had in mind was to create childish sketches that would show the idea of a bond; of working together and helping to raise funds for children in developing countries. Drawing is something I enjoy doing a lot. I hope Auras House completes more projects. The more projects completed, the more children and their families get help.

From everyone at Aura’s House, THANKS Alexia and good luck after graduation this May!
