Household Needs Project for Dora (8) of Guatemala

Our goal is to raise $500.

$500 raised with an additional $80!

Special thanks to Sigmund Lambrento for his $320 donation and to Dora’s sponsor Mats Andersson for his donation of $150.

Dora (8) lives with her parents and four brothers and sisters in a small home built of mud walls, corrugated metal roofing, and a dirt floor. Her father, Rufino, works as a daily laborer, earning about $91 per month. Dora and her family would benefit greatly from household items to make their home more liveable. We aimed to raise $500 to purchase the following gifts: a double bed, a wardrobe, clothing, shoes, food, and cleaning supplies. All projects on the Aura’s House site are 100% US tax deductible.

Stay tuned for updates and photos.

The Household Needs items are as follows:

1 Double bed $121.00
1 three body wardrobe $176.00
Typical clothes $83.00
Shoes $26.00
Food and cleaning supplies $94.00
Grand Total: $500.00

Dora is the sponsored child of Mats Andersson of Ystad, Sweden.

Mats writes:

“After visiting Guatemala and seeing how people live in extreme poverty, I decided to sponsor my first child with Children International. Dora, like so many other children in Guatemala, is living in a house made out of mud walls, a dirt floor, and a rusty metal roof. She helps her parents, and her four siblings doing chores. Dora is a talented singer and dancer, and in her spare time she likes to play with her dolls. She is a very sweet girl and I am glad to be a part of this project and to help her family.

It would be a tremendous help for Dora and her family if you could consider making a donation for them, so that we can help them live a better life.

Thank You So Much,
Mats Andersson”

This project is now complete, but please consider helping another child in need by donating to one of our current active projects.
