Update: Aura’s House 8th Birthday Raffle Winner, Lori Hartwick Decides to Share Her Prize

1 August 2012 One Comment

Hi Everyone!

A few days ago, Baby Nico plunged a chubby arm into the raffle bowl and pulled out the name of our 8th Birthday Raffle winner, Lori Hartwick!

Lori had a choice of receiving a $100 Amazon Gift Card or a $100 Donation to the Charity or Cause of her choice. This is what Lori decided, in her own words:

Wow Kristen!  You give your little Nico a big hug for me.  What a wonderful way to start the morning.  I am so happy with Children International and Lift One.  I enjoy helping out fellow sponsors with their fundraisers.  Just goes to show what we can do when we help each other.  Now one of my own will be helped.  I would love to have the prize go to my sponsored girl in Guatemala.  Her name is Maria Isabel Valenzuela Orosco.  She’s 14 years old now.  She was my first sponsored child with CI nine years ago.  I will post the special needs gift photos when they appear.  I have been enjoying the letters and photos of other sponsors on Lift One although I’m rather envious as I haven’t gotten a letter from any of my kids for weeks now.  I even added the sister of my Elizabeth in Ecuador and am in the agonizing wait time of looking for her on my account.  This raffle prize has given me just the lift I need myself.  Thank you so much.

Maria (14) of Guatemala

Thank YOU Lori! The donation is in the process of being transferred to Maria in Guatemala. We’ll be happy to post the photos of the gifts she receives as well as any other updates and letters.

Thanks again to all who participated in the raffle and for all those who are helping needy families through our small, do-able projects at Aura’s House.

Best wishes and Happy August!
Kristen and the Aura’s House Team

Congratulations Lori the prize could not have gone to a better sponsor. I look forward to seeing the photos when Maria receives her SNG. Well done Nico!
