Roof repairs and School Supplies Project for Ada (8) and Jenifer of Honduras.

$885 raised! THANK YOU!

This Project is Now Complete:
Ada’s family home is in grave need of roof repairs. There are several leaks and holes in the metal roof which always cause the family problems during the rainy season. A new roof would help keep their possessions dry and safe while at the same time maintaining a healthier environment for the whole family. In addition to the roof repairs, Ada and her little sister Jenifer needed school clothing and supplies for the upcoming school year. Since tuition was due before this project completed, Children International has proceeded with purchasing school supplies and paying tuition early to meet the deadline.   See photos of Ada and Jenifer with their school supplies. We aimed to raise $885 for roof repairs, uniforms, shoes, socks, school supplies, text books, back packs, and school fees. All projects on the Aura’s House site are 100% US tax deductible.

Ada is the sponsored child of Dorothee Clinton of Brooklyn, NY.

Dorothee writes:

“Ada is my precious sponsor child from Honduras. I have been sponsoring her since she was 6. She’s a very happy-go-lucky child who is always smiling and full of energy. Her family has said that she’s a very good girl with a kind disposition, and while I’ve only sponsored her a short while, I feel this shows in all I know about her.

When I began sponsoring Ada her report indicated that the family had no floor in their home but I was extremely pleased to find out that the family had actually saved up and gotten a floor for themselves. However, they still had a long list of home improvements that they were in need of. Ada’s mom has indicated that more than anything, they need roof repairs. There are several leaks and holes in the metal roof, which caused the family problems during the rainy season. A new roof would help keep their possessions dry and safe while at the same time maintaining a healthier environment for the whole family.
On top of this improvement, Ada and her little sister Jenifer need school clothing and supplies for the upcoming school year. Ada was able to start school when she was sponsored and I hope to see her continue through until graduation with all her needs being covered. Her sister, with help, will be able to start her first year of school in 2012. While Jenifer is not my sponsored child, I still know that she deserves to start her educational journey off on the right foot. There are also three other siblings in the family whom I’m sure will help guide these young minds to the fullest potential.

I’m really so grateful that these projects for Ada are being hosted on Aura’s House! Her family is in grave need or help, and I know how thankful they will be to have some of these needs be helped with, so that they can focus on the many other needs of their family.

I would like to thank you in advance for considering donating, you truly are life savers!”
