Those who donated at least $10 to this project were automatically entered in our Holiday Raffle.
Eber Danilo (8) lives in Guatemala in a one room home with his parents and two siblings. The family’s home has a concrete floor and a corrugated metal roof. This small space only fits two beds for five people. Eber’s mother is a homemaker and his father is a butcher making their total family income $234 a month.
Children International has communicated that the best way to improve the quality of life for Eber and his family would be to build an extra room where the children could sleep and do homework. Eber’s sponsor, Julia, and Aura’s House would like to construct this extra space with help from donors like you. We aimed to raise $1500 for wood, nails, labor, and roofing.
*Everyone who donated at least $10 to this project was automatically entered in our raffle. Each prize is valued at $50 each and can be either a donation to the cause or charity of your choosing or an Amazon gift card. The two lucky winners will be selected once this project has funded.
Paola (7) lives in Mexico with her family of 6, in a home in need of improvements. As the family have nowhere to store their perishable vegetables, Aura’s House aims to raise funds to help purchase plastic containers for food storage. Paola’s home, also, has a hole in the brick wall to their bedroom, which is the only source of natural light. Aura’s House would like to install a glass window in the space to preserve the light.
The family has asked for a metal cabinet for storing dishes and kitchen items to control the flies and to keep all food related items properly stored. The family’s current “kitchen”, which you can see in one of the gallery photos below consists of only a propane stove. We would like to raise an additional $212.43 to purchase a fold-out sofa bed that could be placed in the family’s spare room.
