Francisco and Evelyn Room Construction Completed! – Colombia

20 February 2013 No Comment

The Room Construction Project for Evelyn and Francisco of Columbia is complete.  Thank you for your generous donations that made this family’s living situation improve!

Children International has sent the final report with the photos in the gallery below of the ramshackle room replacement for Evelyn and Francisco’s family in Cartagena, Colombia.  As a reminder, the family was living in nothing more than a shack made up of odd pieces of wood, plastic, cardboard and even pieces of cotton sheets.  They were sharing the facilities with up to seventeen family members.  Thanks to your generosity they now have a safe, secure and comfortable place to live with three windows for fresh air, doors for privacy and beds in which to sleep rather than the old mix of mattresses and wood.  The family is truly grateful as you can see in the before and after photo galleries below and the kind words from Francisco’s aunt.

Francisco’s aunt writes,

“Hello Sponsor,

I want to thank you because thanks to you my nephew Francisco has had the opportunity of improving his living conditions, since now he has a more comfortable place to sleep in his new bed, and his home is not already built of wood but with cement walls completely. The child is not that worried about the sunlight or rain getting in through the walls anymore…Francisco is very grateful to you because he lives now in better conditions and (is) really glad since he feels more protected at home.

Thank you!”
