Home Construction Is Now Complete for Habiba Khatun (9)- India

16 January 2014 No Comment

The fine concrete work done on Habiba’s home is now complete thanks to the generous support of Aura’s House contributors.  The entire house including the veranda was paved in concrete and now the family no longer has to worry about the monsoon season and the resulting muddy floors.  They will not only stay dry and clean, but their health will improve without the damp, cold ground.  The family, also, received groceries and Habiba received clothing.  See the original Home Construction Project.

Habiba (9) With Her Family

When the project for Habiba was first announced, there was a need for tailoring equipment for Habiba’s father.  We learned that he received a promotion at his job in a local garment factory and due to his new responsibilities, would need to work full time at the factory.  He would not have time to start his own tailoring business. Instead of purchasing equipment for his business, Habiba’s dad asked our agency to use the funds instead to purchase a steel almirah (cabinet) and a plastic shelving unit for the family’s use in storing their belongings.

See photos of the construction and read a letter of thanks from Habiba.

Donors have made an enormous difference in the life of this little girl and her family.  Thank you to all of the Aura’s House donors for your kindness and generosity.

This project is now complete, but there are other active projects that could benefit from your donations.
