Complete: Education Project for Abrahan (10) of Honduras: $288 Raised. THANK YOU!
This project is now complete.
Launched: March 28, 2014.
Completed: April 22, 2014.
Our goal was to raise $270.
$288 raised. THANK YOU!
See photos of Abrahan and his mom with the school supplies and read a letter of thanks to his sponsor, Inga.
Special thanks to: The amazing repeat donor, Elvis Kibiti whose generous $125 donation that will be matched by his employer effectively finishes off this project and ensures that Abrahan can continue to attend school and work toward his dream of becoming a doctor. Thank you!
Abrahan needed immediate assistance in order to continue attending school for this school year. Abrahan’s mother of seven can not afford tuition and to buy school supplies by herself as the family lives off of only $105 per month. She is struggling to educate Abrahan, her youngest child and her other three younger children. Sadly, Abrahan’s older siblings have already quit school and are working to help their mother. Aura’s House hoped to help Abrahan go to school and continue his education. He is very intelligent and is an excellent student.
We aimed to raise a total of $270 to purchase the following items: school uniforms, a P.E. uniform, a backpack, ten months of school lunch, didactic materials, and two pairs of shoes. All projects on the Aura’s House site are 100% US tax deductible and 100% of donations go to our projects and the families or communities they serve.
School uniforms (includes undershirts, socks, underwear) = $57
1 P.E. Uniform = $15
1 Backpack = $14
10 Months of school lunch = $112
Didactic material = $27
2 Pairs of shoes (daily shoes and P.E. tennis shoes) $45
The breakdown does not include transportation costs because the school is close to Abrahan’s house and he can get there by walking. However, the school lunch is necessary since his mother has four children attending school and sometimes she lacks the money to provide them all with a complete lunch so, this would allow her to feed Abrahan so he can achieve a good school performance.
Abrahan’s sponsor is Inga Katelari, a partner at Aura’s House.
“Abrahan is my first sponsored child whom I’ve been sponsoring for 5 years now. He lives with 6 siblings and his mother who is raising them on her own on a mere $105 per month. Abrahan is 10 years old and the youngest child in the family. He’s attending 5th grade of primary school. According to the education report, he is an outstanding student. Abrahan is a bright and intelligent boy who likes to study and wants to become a doctor when he grows up.
For the school year 2014, Abrahan needs help with school uniforms, shoes, didactic material, backpack, books and school lunches. He has started the classes in February 2014 and I hope we can raise the needed funds to get him what he needs for his education and help him continue school this year.
Thanking you in advance for your consideration.
This project is now complete, but please consider donating to another needy child featured in one of our current active projects.
