Introducing Stefani:

Olá, my name is Stefani de Matos and I am a new volunteer here at Aura’s House. I am currently a junior at The American University of Rome (AUR), where I began my undergraduate degree in the spring of 2011. I am studying Business Administration and minoring in Film and Digital Media. I will graduate from AUR in December of 2014, yet I am still uncertain regarding the career path that I would like to follow. I have however thoroughly enjoyed all my film and digital media classes and would be more than happy if they formed a part of my future.

I am Portuguese, born and raised in South Africa. I enjoy giving back to the community and, as a result, I have volunteered at many different organizations throughout my life. As a volunteer at Aura’s House I will be assisting with web and graphic design. I completely enjoyed my first web design course with Professor Palana and look forward to further expanding my knowledge in the advanced web course. Aura’s House will be one of many websites that we will work with throughout the course. I feel that working on the Aura’s House website will be rewarding from the perspective of a web designer but knowing that I will be assisting others who genuinely need help with be the best reward of all.

Thank you for offering me the opportunity to work with Aura’s House, and to be a part of this truly heartwarming project. I am truly excited.

Best,

Stefani

Introducing Martina:

Martina

Martina

My name is Martina Mikulcikova. I come from Slovakia, the county in the middle of Europe. One year ago, I decided to take off and discover the world, and that’s why I decided to go to Italy. After falling in love with this country, I decided to transfer and study Communication at The American University of Rome. I have had the opportunity to also take classes in graphic design, web design, and film.

This year, I will also be working on the Aura’s House website as part of an Independent Study, an advanced course in Web Design. I am really excited that I can improve my skills in this area working on a project that matters as much as Aura’s House, helping individuals in need. The Aura’s House website is our first project  in the Independent Study and I believe it will help me to understand more the ‘behind the scenes’ of running a blog, and give me a starting point to be able to make a site of my own!

Looking forward,

Martina
