Ready, Set, Go Mike Go! (For Education in The Dominican Republic.)

20 September 2014 No Comment

It’s time to go!

Mike Epler, Aura’s House Partner since 2005, has been training for the 273KM 7 day Grand to Grand Stage Race for the last couple of months with a strong determination and a great cause. Focused on giving the chance to 15 high-achieving Dominican students to study English, Mike made a decision to match each $1.00 donated with a $1.00 from his own funds until September 28th. (This is his second $500 match. Donations will be doubled until we reach $2350.)

Our overall goal is to raise $3,000 to enroll 15 Dominican students in an English as a Second Language Program through Children International. View the English Tutoring Project in The Dominican Republic project page for the latest totals and more details about the prospective students being helped.

You can't even imagine what Mike is going to do to make sure this project succeeds!

The race will start Sunday, September 22, 2014, 8am at the north rim of the Grand Canyon. It was declared to be one of the Top 9 Toughest Ultramarathons, so it won’t be easy but Mike is ready to go. He has funded his own costs for this event, and makes sure every dollar goes to this project, via Aura’s House. It seemed impossible 9 months ago but today we are over half way to our goal!

Your support will help these students better their lives,” writes Mike. He counts on the support of everyone who still wants to join and add any amount that Mike will double with his own money.

Don’t  miss on being a part of this great initiative! To follow Mike’s journey, daily results we be posted to this page or you can like the Grand to Grand Facebook page.

And please, make a gift of ANY size here and change a child’s life forever by opening doors to education and a brighter future.
