4 January 2015 2 Comments

This project is now complete. Launched January 10, 2015.
Completed: May 6, 2015.

Our goal was to raise $1,109.

$1,452 raised! THANK YOU!
*The extra funds raised will go towards Cheska’s second year of University.

Please note that all donations of at least $10 to this project between April 10 and June 30 got an entry in our Birthday Raffle.

Special thanks to: Cheska’s sponsor, Kevin Shaw for his heroic $500 donation to ensure this bright young later can attend school.
Cheska (17) of the Philippines has a dream of pursuing higher education so that she can earn a four year college degree in Financial Management to help lift herself and her family out of poverty.

This project aims to raise one semester’s tuition and other costs to help make that dream become a reality.  Cheska is an extremely driven young woman who excels in sports and academics.

We aim to raise a total of $1,109 to purchase the following items: tuition, school uniform, supplies, books, meals,  fees, and transportation. The funds must be raised by early May 1, 2015 in order for Cheska to begin in June, 2015.  All projects on the Aura’s House site are 100% US tax deductible and 100% of donations go to our projects.

Cheska is the sponsor child of Kevin Shaw of the USA.
Kevin writes:

“I believe that education is the key to escaping poverty and Cheska’s desire for college should be something she should have the opportunity to experience. She is really determined to pursue her college education. She was very active in her academics and sports activities in high school. She truly believes that the character traits that she learned and acquired from playing sports gave her the courage, strength of character, will power and patience to pursue her dreams in life.”

Thanks to all in advance who will help Cheska achieve her dream of an education and future career. Please make a gift, large or small now and make a profound impact in Cheska’s life.

Hi, I mailed in a donation. Do mailed donations get recorded here once they are received?

    Dear Trey,
Thanks so much for your donation. YES. Did you write on your check that it was for a specific project at Aura’s House? If so, Lauren Jurgens from Children International will alert us once the check clears and we can record it on the site. That said, you are welcome to email me at contact@aurashouse.com with the details and I can apply your donation ASAP. If you didn’t specify the donation was for an Aura’s House project on the check, no problem. Again, give me the details of the donation and I can let Children International know and they will ensure it gets to where you want it to go. Best wishes and thank you again! Kristen
