Congratulations to Our Latest Raffle Winners!

Hi Everyone!
Whew. The dust has settled and the toddlers have chosen! Lukas (age 3) has chosen three winners for our 2012 Holiday Raffle and Nico (age 1) chose two winners for the Raffle for Paola’s Home Improvement Project in Mexico.

Happy 8th Birthday Aura’s House! Happy 19th Birthday to Aura!

It’s our 8th birthday today here at Aura’s House. Enter our Birthday Raffle to help us celebrate and you could win $100 for yourself or favorite charity in the process.

Thanks to the small donations (usually just $10 or under…) of lots of people over the years, we’ve raised over $86,000 for housing, health, education, and income generation projects for needy children and their families and communities in North, Central, and South America, Africa, and Asia…

Welcome Kristen and Michael’s newborn, Nico, into the world!

Aura’s House founder, Kristen Palana, and her husband Michael Hemling retured home from the hospital with their new baby, Nico (Nicolas) Aiden Hemling. He was born on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 1:04 PM. Nico weighed 7 lbs. and was 18.5 inches long.
He is peaceful, healthy, and sweet. His older brother, Lukas (age 2), adores him and will not stop kissing his head.

Please, join Aura’s House in congratulating Kristen and Michael and welcoming baby Nico into the world.

The Children’s Crises – Somalia

“Somalia is facing the worst humanitarian crises in the world” and sadly the situation is escalating. The UN has now officially declared a famine in parts of Southern Somalia. It is the first declared famine in nineteen years. Without strong global action this disaster could continue to spread.
