Visit the Household Needs Project for Maria Antonia -Guatemala

Launched October 24, 2009. Completed March 21, 2010.

Our goal was to raise $712 . Your donations funded a tortilla business for Maria Antonia (17) and her family of Guatemala. The project raised money for the following gifts: 1 gas stove, 1 plastic table, corn, 100 plastic bags, 1 plastic basket, 2 tablecloths, 1 pot, and 1 plastic pot.

Gema Luna

Visit the Household Needs Project for Gema -Guatemala

Launched June 24, 2009. Completed November 24, 2009.

Our goal was to raise $508.50 to give Gema Luna (8) and her family of Guatemala the following gifts: baby furniture, an adult bed, and 2 wooden wardrobes. Gema is a sweet little girl living in the outskirts of Guatemala City. She lives with her parents, Edwin and Julia, two older sisters, Crystal (12) and Dulce (10) and her baby brother Yesher. Gema loves going to school, she is really passionate about Mathematics!

Visit Income Generation and Household Needs Project for Joselin -Guatemala

Launched April 28, 2009. Completed October 16, 2009.

The family’s home has electricity; however, it is not available throughout the entire house. The family would like to install more electrical sockets for convenience and safety reasons. Joselin’s older sister, Sandra, recently gave birth to a healthy baby and the family has had to pay for extra expenses. Because of the added expenses, the family has been unable to buy raw materials and gas to continue with their income-generating project of making and selling tortillas.

Visit Mirriam’s Food and Household Needs Project -Zambia

launched Jun. 3, 2009. Completed Sept. 3, 2009.

Our goal was to give Mirriam Mapaso (9) and her family of Zambia the following gifts: bunkbeds, mattresses, blankets, school shoes and supplies, clothing items, and food supplies. Please, stay tuned for photos and updates on this complete project.

Visit Ana’s Income Generating Project -Ecuador

launched Feb. 4, 2009. Completed Aug. 25, 2009.

Our goal was to raise $2770 to buy a home workshop for Ana Belen Lema Gomez (11) and her family of Quito, Ecuador. Her mother works as a maid and her father is disabled and requires a wheelchair. The family earns $100 a month. Ana’s mother’s income supports the whole family since her father Luis cannot work away from home. However, Luis does have training as an electrician. He would like to set up a home workshop to fix small appliances. Children International predicts a 60% rise in their income if Luis is able to have a workshop.

Zoila

Visit Zoila’s Chicken Income Generating Project -Honduras


launched February 4, 2009 and completed July 24, 2009.

Thanks to Aura’s House donations, Zoila’s family will now be able to raise chickens and sell the eggs. They have ample room on their property to do so. They will now soon build a chicken coop. Her father is a day laborer and the only bread winner. They currently have an income of $105 a month. This project will soon add a second income without taking the mother away from the family. Stay tuned for updates and photos for this complete project.

Joey

Visit Joey’s Hog Income Generating Project -Philippines

February 4, 2009 – June 19, 2009

Thanks to Aura’s House donations, Joey’s family will soon be able to raise hogs. They have room on their land to do so. This business will soon provide for all of the family’s daily needs. Currently their only income is unstable and comes from selling root vegetables and abaca making. They currently earn only $21 a month!

Nyslin

Visit Nyslin’s Chicken Income Generating Project -Guatemala

February 4, 2009 – May 29, 2009

Nyslin’s mother would like to raise chicks. She has had experience selling them in the past and has adequate room to raise them. This would be a good business for Nyslin’s family because her father is currently the only wage earner. It would give Nyslin’s mother a chance to earn an income without having to be away from her family. Currently, her father is the only wage earner and they have about $103 a month.

Visit Lesly’s Roof Project -Guatemala

February 4, 2009 – April 17, 2009

Thanks to your wonderful support, Lesly Solis and her family from Guatemala City received the following gifts: -Improvements to the tin roof -Poored concrete slab in courtyard of home -Purchase of two water containers and a table stove (with propane tank) -Purchase of a bed and linens

Visit Naidelin Hernandez’s Roof Project -Guatemala

December 8, 2008 – January 9, 2009

Naidelin and her family recently received construction materials and supplies to build the family a sturdy concrete roof. Naidelin’s parents are very grateful. They stated that this gift is a tremendous blessing to the entire family.
