Dorothee Clinton won one of our recent raffles and decided to donate her prize to her sponsor child, Cristian Pila of Ecuador.
He has received gifts from Dorothee’s generous donations. Cristian and his family came to the Quito Children International office to receive their gifts. Dorothee’s gift provided some much needed food and cleaning products for Cristian and his family.
Cristian lives with his grandmother and aunt. They had very little food in the home when Children International’s local staff visited them. When Cristian came to CI’s office to receive the food and cleaning items, he asked “Where is my sponsor?” His grandmother told him that she was far away but that she gave all of this to him because she loves him very much. He told his grandmother and the staff that he “wanted to hug his sponsor.”

Children International has purchased items from Aura’s House donations to sell in Abraham’s mother’s store that would increase the family’s income and help her to provide for her seven children. Abraham (8) looks so happy and healthy in the photos sent from Honduras of him and his mother with fully stocked shelves. Abraham’s mother’s only income comes from operating this small store out of her home, selling a few basic items to support her big family. The greater income generation will help the family by providing them the means to purchas vitamins, supplements and food for Abraham. These necessities will improve his health by helping him to battle malnutrition.
We are all very excited and happy for Aura who now has a Teaching Certificate for Elementary School.
Thanks to Aura’s House donors’ wonderful support and special donations Aura has been given the tremendous opportunity to complete her education. Aura’s House wishes Aura the best of luck in finding a fulfilling job that will, also, benefit her and her family.
All of Aura’s expenses for the 2011 school year were paid in full, including her graduation and seminar fees. She received a graduation ring, as well, and told Children International’s staff that it will …
