Abraham Helps With His Mother’s Store – Honduras

Children International has purchased items from Aura’s House donations to sell in Abraham’s mother’s store that would increase the family’s income and help her to provide for her seven children. Abraham (8) looks so happy and healthy in the photos sent from Honduras of him and his mother with fully stocked shelves. Abraham’s mother’s only income comes from operating this small store out of her home, selling a few basic items to support her big family. The greater income generation will help the family by providing them the means to purchas vitamins, supplements and food for Abraham. These necessities will improve his health by helping him to battle malnutrition.

Complete: Medical and Income Generation Project for Abraham of Honduras. $870 Raised! Thank you!

Abraham is facing severe malnutrition due to his family’s lack of income. His family was abandoned by his father and his mother earns a small monthly income from a struggling store to support her seven children. Unfortunately, her income has recently dropped to only $105 a month. She can’t go to find work elsewhere because she has to stay home to care for her special needs daughter. Running a store from home is really her only option.

It would greatly help the family if they were provided with vitamins, supplements and food for Abraham to improve in his health and with a donation to purchase items to sell in the store that would increase the family’s income and help Abraham’s mother to provide for her seven children.

Dora lives with her parents and four brothers and sisters in a small home built of mud walls, corrugated metal roofing, and a dirt floor. Her father, Rufino, works as a daily laborer, earning about $91 per month. Dora and her family would benefit greatly from household items to make their home more liveable.

We aim to raise $500 to purchase the following gifts: a double bed, a wardrobe, clothing, shoes, food, and cleaning supplies. All projects on the Aura’s House site are 100% US tax deductible.
